The Secondary Description in your product details pages allow you to share information about products on their individual product pages. This information can be updated on a product-by-product basis or via an Excel spreadsheet.

Enable Secondary Descriptions

You may need to enable secondary descriptions to appear. To do this, go to System > Features and toggle on Show Secondary Item Description. You may need to do this for both B2B and B2C users.

Editing Secondary Descriptions on Product Details Pages

To edit a Secondary Description on a product details page, navigate to your Dashboard and go to Catalog > Products. Once there, locate the product that you would like to modify and click Edit.

The secondary description will appear in the General tab. Modify the text as you wish and click Save.

View Changes

Once saved, navigate to the product page in the web store, and you should see the changes.

Editing Secondary Descriptions via Excel Export/Import

A faster way to modify several secondary descriptions (and other details of products as well) is to export the products from Catalog > Products.

Under Tools, click Export to export all product details. Once you’ve made your modification to the exported Excel sheet, import your changes via the Import functionality.

Please note that we recommend keeping a backup of the original Excel sheet that is exported, just in case something goes wrong and you need to restore the products to their previous state.
